Vertical subtitles for TikTok, Reels and Shorts.

Subtitled burns subtitles into vertical videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. Drop in a video, and Subtitled transcribes it in any of 60+ languages, can translate it into 16, and exports it at 9:16 with the subtitles placed and styled your way: a bold box, an outline, your colours and size. A 60 second clip costs about $0.01.

Word by word, the short-video look

Set Word by word to Pop and each word appears as it is spoken, the newest one larger and in your highlight color, or to Highlight to keep the line and light up the word being said. It costs the same as plain subtitles.

From horizontal to vertical

Set the shape to 9:16 and Subtitled crops a horizontal video to fill a vertical frame, centred, with the subtitles placed inside it. The preview shows exactly what the export will look like before you download.

Reach viewers in other languages

Subtitle the same clip in Spanish, Arabic, Hindi or any of 16 languages, one export each, so a clip can travel beyond the language it was recorded in.

How it works

  1. 1Drop in the video, vertical or not.
  2. 2Pick the subtitle language.
  3. 3Choose 9:16, then the size, colours and position.
  4. 4Download the finished video.

Questions

Can subtitles pop word by word like TikTok captions?

Yes. Set Word by word to Pop and the words appear as they are said, the newest one larger and in your highlight color, or to Highlight to show the whole line with the spoken word lit up. Both burn into the video, at no extra cost.

Can Subtitled turn a horizontal video into a vertical one?

Yes. Choose 9:16 and Subtitled crops the video to fill a vertical frame, centred, with the subtitles burned in. You can also export square 1:1, horizontal 16:9, or keep the original shape.

Does Subtitled add a watermark?

No. The video Subtitled gives back has your subtitles and nothing else drawn on it.

Is my video uploaded to make the subtitles?

No. Subtitled draws the subtitles on your own computer, so the video never leaves it. Only the sound is sent to be transcribed, and it is deleted as soon as the text comes back.

How much does it cost to subtitle a short?

Subtitled charges $0.50 per hour of video, so a 60 second clip costs about $0.01, and a new account's free first hour covers two hours of video.
