Subtitled is built to keep as little as possible. Videos are subtitled on your own computer and only their sound is sent to Soniox, our speech provider, which deletes it as soon as the text comes back. Soniox does not store live audio or train on it. Transcripts are saved only in your browser. Payments go through Stripe. There are no analytics, trackers or ads.

Live, your shared tab and microphone audio go from your browser to Soniox to be recognised and translated. For files, only the sound is sent, never the video picture, and Subtitled deletes the audio and its transcript from Soniox once it has read them.

Live captions listen to the browser tab you share with Subtitled. Nothing joins the call or the chat, and the people you talk to see nothing unless you put the captions on your stream.
