Questions

How much does Subtitled cost?

Subtitled runs on one credit balance. Live captions cost $1.00 per hour of translation, video subtitles $0.50 per hour of video, and transcripts $0.25 per hour of audio. Everyone gets 3 live hours free every month, the Streamer plan is 30 live hours a month for $9.99, bought credit never expires, and live captions only count while someone is talking, so a five hour stream might use one or two hours. Auto top-up adds $10 when you drop under $2, so captions never cut out mid-stream, and you can turn it off.

How do I get started with Subtitled?

Sign in with Google: you get 3 hours of live captions free every month, plus a free hour for 30 days that also covers two hours of video subtitles or four hours of transcripts. After that, add $5 for 5 hours or $10 for 12, or take the Streamer plan. There is nothing to install and no password to set. An invite link from someone who already uses Subtitled adds another $1 that never expires, and they get $1 too once you first buy credit.

Is Subtitled private? Who can see my transcripts?

Subtitled transcripts are saved only in your own browser and are never sent to us, so nobody else can read them. Audio goes from your browser to Soniox for transcription and translation; Soniox does not store live audio or use it to train its models, and file audio is deleted as soon as the text comes back. There are no analytics, trackers or ads.
