When Subtitled is the cheaper choice

A few interviews or videos a month cost cents on Subtitled: a 45 minute call is about $0.19, and a 10 minute video translated into Spanish is about $0.08. There is no plan to cancel, and bought credit never expires, so a quiet month costs nothing.

When another tool fits better

Otter is built for meetings, taking notes on calls every day. Rev sells transcripts and subtitles checked by people, for work where every word has to be right. CapCut is a full video editor. Subtitled does the transcript, the subtitles and live stream captions, and nothing else.

Questions

Is Subtitled cheaper than Otter?

For transcribing recordings, yes. Subtitled charges $0.25 per hour of audio with no subscription, so two hours cost $0.50 and 20 hours cost $5.00. Otter Pro is $8.33 a month billed yearly for up to 1,200 minutes, which is 20 hours, so Subtitled stays cheaper even at Otter's full allowance. Otter's plan also covers live meeting notes, which Subtitled does not do (prices checked October 2026).

How does Subtitled compare to Rev for translated subtitles?

Rev's translated subtitles are made by people and cost $6.49 to $15.99 per minute depending on the language. Subtitled's are machine translated and included in its $0.50 per hour video price, so a 10 minute video costs about $0.08 in any of 16 languages. Rev is the choice when a human has to check every line (prices checked October 2026).

Is Subtitled a CapCut alternative for captions?

For burning subtitles into a video, yes, with no subscription and no editor to learn: drop the video in, pick the language, style the subtitles and download, at 9:16 for TikTok if you want. For cutting and editing the video itself, CapCut is the editor; Subtitled only adds the subtitles.

Does Subtitled need a subscription?

No. Add $5 or $10 of credit, which never expires; the Streamer plan, 30 live hours a month for $9.99, is optional. Every new account gets its first hour free for 30 days.
