How to stream vertically for TikTok Live

atme makes a vertical version of your show for TikTok Live and Shorts, laid out for 9:16 instead of cropped: one person fills the frame, two stack, and three or more put whoever is talking on top.In SettingsYour setup, pick the app you go live with and TikTok under "Where you go live", and the steps follow for your app: in Streamlabs, its Dual Output gives you a vertical canvas and signs in to TikTok for you; in OBS, the free Aitum Vertical plugin adds one, with a TikTok stream key each time you go live.

  1. SettingsYour setup: pick your app, and TikTok under "Where you go live"
  2. Follow the steps for your app
  3. The vertical link goes on your vertical canvas at 1080 × 1920

Shared screens and cards

A shared screen or Chatroulette goes across the top with the people under it; Starting, Be right back and Ending fill the frame.

TikTok from Streamlabs

Everything stays in Streamlabs. Turn on Dual Output (the toggle above your scenes), lay out your vertical scene with your own sources, and in Go Live put TikTok on Vertical: Streamlabs signs in to TikTok, so there is no key to copy.

To bleep, add the vertical link to your vertical scene as a Browser source with "Control audio via Streamlabs Desktop" ticked, mute your mic in Streamlabs, and give your camera a 2000 ms Video Delay (Async) filter. Your voice then reaches YouTube and TikTok through atme, bleeped and 2 seconds late, with your lips in time.

Bleeping TikTok's banned words

TikTok ends streams over slurs and words like "rape".Turn on SettingsBleeping"Bleep TikTok's banned words" and the vertical view plays 2 seconds behind, beeps those words out of everyone's voice, and stars them out of captions and chat. Add your own words in the box under it. Your wide stream on YouTube, Twitch and Kick is not touched unless you turn on "Bleep on every platform".

It listens through captions, so it uses caption time. Your mic has to reach TikTok through the vertical view, not straight from OBS: in the browser source, tick "Control audio via OBS", then in your vertical output settings send TikTok only the audio track that browser source is on, with your mic off that track.

Only voices that come through atme are bleeped. A Chatroulette window captured straight in OBS is not.

Questions

Is the vertical stream cropped from the wide one?
No. It is laid out for 9:16, so nobody is cut in half and every name fits.
Does bleeping catch every word?
Most. It goes by what captions hear, so a mumbled word can slip through; it errs toward bleeping anything that starts like a banned word.
Do I need a second OBS for vertical?
You need a vertical canvas: a second OBS profile at 1080 × 1920, or a vertical canvas plugin.
